Barcelona - I took myself along to the Unusual Wedding Barcelona event last night and found this amazing service. The Unusual Wedding Barcelona is an annual event and this is their second year. I hope they have many many more.

I was super happy to bump into Pope & Poole. They are a photo booth truck business. They arrive to an event in their very cute VW van the interior of which is kitted out photo booth style. The images come in strips of 4 and the processing is speedy. They have props and a great neon sign that illuminates P H O T O S (great for your wedding photographer).

Such a lovely email to receive.

It was lovely to open this email from the father of Danielle. Feedback is incredibly important for any business and of course when it is positive you feel very very happy.

Shirley and I can hardly believe it is nearly two months since that Saturday at Almiral de la Font -we can still remember an air of expectation on that morning coupled with just a little nervousness that all would be as expected.

The nervous feelings were of course unnecessary as all the meticulous planning and preparation delivered the day of our dreams and most importantly those of Danielle & Matt.

For the planning beforehand and for all of the hard work you put in to the day itself you have our wholehearted thanks. Furthermore, for being somebody that Danielle could totally rely on and have faith in, we also thank you as we have never seen her so relaxed and thereby able to enjoy her very special day, which in turn made all around her relax and also enjoy the day to the full.

We hope to be back to Sitges again at some point in 2017 and it would be great to meet up and share some time with you and Shane over a drink and perhaps some tapas.

In the meantime our very best wishes,

Terry & Shirley

Danielle and Matt got in touch with me in 2015. When I met them for first time it was to show them around some potential venues. After a mornings viewings and a lovely lunch I was delighted to be told they wanted me to be their planner.  Here are some of the amazing photographs of the day and Danielle and Matt´s story.
We met 13 years ago working in a restaurant; Matt was originally a chef (now a plumber) and I was waitressing part time whilst still studying. We have been together for 12 years now… and in that time have bought a house, travelled the world and pretty much grown up together.

We got engaged in Santorini in October 2014; after 10 years of being together. It has become a running joke in the family that Matt would never propose so I think everyone was pretty relieved once he proposed. I think he actually enjoyed keeping everyone waiting that long.

We chose Sitges to get married as I have been holidaying with family there for over 20 years, and since Matt and I have been together, he has also become part of those trips and also fell in love with the town. We also wanted to turn the wedding into a whole weekend with a laid back feel so we could send as much time with our friends and family as possible. And we wanted everyone to experience Sitges and fall in love with it as we did.

The whole weekend turned out to be everything we could have asked for and more. The original 3 day plan turned into more of a 6 day wedding in the end, with people arriving into town from Wednesday onwards. It was pretty surreal to see everyone you know and love walking around the streets and in the restaurants where we have been going for so many years. It was actually quite overwhelming to have your closest friends and family in your favourite place in the world and realise that everyone had taken the time out to travel to be there to celebrate with us.

The end of the summer and this was a relaxed and incredibly laid back wedding day

My client's wishes were for a very smooth easy going wedding day.

Congratulations to Nina, Christian and little Ludvig.

Because of the low numbers we were able to use the tables of the masia. This created a lovely intimate dinner.
Smaller tables normally means I get the budget to go lavish : )

And so it was... a perfect day that was wonderfully relaxed. Special thank you to Nina, Christian and their family and friends.

Sitges Wedding - Anita & Matt 2015

My final wedding of 2015 and what an exit from the season. I loved working with Anita & Matt. So open, kind and warm. The love for Anita and her boys showed by Matt was so touching.
Picture
Anita & Matt had an entire suitcase of homemade decorations.......lost by the airline. But that didn't get in the way of an absolutely perfect day thanks to them.

Anita's sister pictured here told me Matt & Anita's story and I am so glad she did. That lady on the left by the way has the most AMAZING VOICE! A wedding I will never forget.

The Town Of Sitges.

The town of Sitges is a short distance from Barcelona and an even shorter distance to the main Barcelona airport. It has some beautiful venues (please see posts below). It has a lovely village feel with a non stop annual list of fiestas and events. A perfect destination for a wedding.
Picture
  • Sitges  -  300 Sunny days   -  18.7 C / 65.5 F Annual average    -  3 Marinas   -   17 Beaches

Picture
  • Due to the mediterranean climate (hot summers and mild winters) fresh food and delicious wines are synonymous with Sitges.  A popular wedding meal is a show cook paella, fresh salads, cheese and ham platters with a starter of served hot and cold tapas whilst your guests sip flutes of chilled cava. This menu is very cost effective to the wedding budget whilst still retaining what is need to result in a top quality menu.

Bethany & Jeff Spring 2015

Bethany and Jeff contacted me from America. Bethany was living in New York and Jeff was living in Atlanta. Their long distance relationship was helped greatly by Jeff's airline job. Popping to Spain for meetings was also easy. So preparations started and these images are the result.
Picture
Bethany & Jeff were shown a few venue's and settled on a beautiful winery. The winery is set in the coastal mountain range of Catalunya. Penedes is a wine-producing region that produces excellent wine and delicious cava.

The stunning mix of industry and old Spanish stone buildings made for a very striking venue.

I can happily report that Jeff has now secured himself a job closer to his wife that they are able to live together. All the best to two lovely people.

Katie & Akin April 2014

A Philippa Events wedding photographed by Suzie. http://suzielarkephoto.co.uk/
This was a big family wedding. It started off with Akin wanting to do everything himself. A self made man that owns a catering company ..... I understood. But, not his own wedding and thankfully his lovely finance Katie convinced him other wise. Not before he had done lots of numbers. It was a hot day in April and the ceremony was at a church with the cava & canapés and reception meal being at the Masia.
Picture
La Iglesia del Vinyet - not the main church but it is incredible. Huge model ships flank either side of the church  pews making it a very interestingly decorated church.  I was delighted when Katie and Akin chose this one to hold their wedding.
